Agent Templates
Start faster by creating agents from reusable templates, then customize the variables, prompt, tools, and knowledge before launch.
Template Overview
Template selection is part of the Dashboard > Agents > New Agent flow. The old templates route redirects there so creation happens in one place.
Choosing a Template
Pick the template that most closely matches the job the agent should perform: booking, support, lead capture, intake, order help, or another vertical workflow. A close starting point is better than a generic agent because it already includes useful structure.
Template Variables
Some templates expose fields such as company name, business hours, booking type, service category, or escalation contact. Fill these in before creating the agent so the generated prompt and starter configuration are specific.
After creation, review Variables in the agent editor if you need to keep those values reusable across playbooks, workflows, and tools.
Customize Before Launch
- Update the agent name and greeting.
- Upload documents that match the selected use case.
- Review playbooks and remove any flow that does not apply.
- Connect the tools needed by the template.
- Test common customer scenarios in the simulator.
After Creation
A template is a starting point, not a finished deployment. Before publishing, review guardrails, escalation, voice settings, billing capacity, and deployment keys.
- ●Use Agent Setup for the core voice and role.
- ●Use Advanced Builder for variables, workflows, guardrails, and escalation.
- ●Use Deployment & API when you are ready to embed or integrate.
